Store Review: Le Creuset

Re-imagine cooking with a range of innovative cookware by Le Creuset, says Pranika Sharma, who strolled through the store in Phoenix Mills

French cookware brand, Le Creuset opened its second store in Mumbai at Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel, and we headed over to explore their cooking range. Situated amidst the bustle of daily shoppers, Le Creuset is quick to catch your attention with its colourful and unconventional cookware products. Established in 1925, the brand has developed and maintained its status in the cookware industry for over a 100 years! The store showcases a range of products made out of unconventional materials such as cast iron and ceramic, which is their speciality. Painted in bright and vibrant hues, the cookware range is known for its conductivity and is sure to stand out in any kitchen.

Cook in style

Walking into the brightly lit and colourful store is sure to satisfy the organiser in you. Filled with vibrant and colourful products that are shelved in an orderly fashion, the store is a dream for food lovers, homemakers and cooking experts alike. The store is divided into sections based on how the various products are shelved. On entering, our eyes were immediately drawn to one of its highest selling range of cookware... the stoneware, made from ceramic, that the store has on offer.

These stoneware products are unique too, as they combine the material of traditional cookware with new technology. The basic techniques of pottery are applied to make pots, pans, kettle jars and many other such varieties, which are painted in bright and cheery colours and are microwave- and bake-proof. These are practical kitchenware products that can be used for cooking and serving.

The same goes for their range of cast iron products, which is also a speciality of the brand and a unique innovation in the world of cookware. Available in various shapes, sizes and colours, they enhance the flavour of your food by cooking it evenly. Although they are not microwaveable, you can easily cook up yummy dishes in these and set them right on your table without the hassle of serving food in other sets of dishes.

Other than these, Le Creuset also showcases a range of toughened non-stick cookware, multi-ply stainless steel as well as a range of baking equipment.

Customer first

The brand stands out for its quality and variety and the products are made from materials that do not affect the health and well-being of users. And, they are meant to last for a lifetime.

Le Creuset gives priority to the health of its consumers by making sure that the materials used in the manufacture of their products are free of any harmful chemicals.

Their range of non-stick cookware is PFOA-free and made from materials that have a long shelf life and do not affect health. Their stainless steel is made from surgical steel, which makes it tough and shiny. It is layered thrice, allowing for efficient cooking, even heating and increasing its shelf life. Most products don’t just have a lifetime guarantee, but are also dishwasher-friendly, so you don’t have to add any extra effort to clean them.

More than a store, Le Creuset is an experience that will change your perspective towards cookware. Based on a motive to innovate, they bring new and different products such as the Tagine, which has a cast iron base and a ceramic top, and their variety of fondue makers to serve different styles of fondues. Their wide range of products allows you to make your own customised kitchenware sets or even pick from their specially customised range.
