Laser Vision Correction beyond LASIK…. FLAPLESS, BLADELESS, PAINLESS … The most sophisticated unit for LASER VISION CORRECTION

Prof. Keiki ready to perform the very 1st SMILE Laser Vision Correction in India, on his SMILE Laser unit.

SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) is the latest new technique for laser techniques to remove spectacle numbers and has taken the world by storm.

Many people wear spectacles or contact lenses to see well, but some consider them a great inconvenience. They just want to enjoy good vision without glasses or contact lenses.

Eye conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, so called refractive errors, are very common and is very comfortably treated with the latest and most advanced SMILE Laser Vision Corrective System, an advanced procedure, supporting a comfortable patient experience.

It is a fast technique. The laser correction itself takes only takes 24 to 28 seconds.

With the development of SMILE, a minimally invasive and flapless procedure, has not only made the procedure painless, but it is the most gentle treatment available for a patient looking for Vision Correction.

As a result, recovery is much quicker than the conventional LASIK. Patients can normally return to work, take a shower or apply makeup shortly after surgery. Driving and sports activities are possible within a few days.

Unlike Lasik where a flap is created and then laser is applied, the latest “SMILE” is a BLADELESS, FLAPLESS, PAINLESS procedure, meaning that there are no flap-related complications and NO side effects.

The SMILE for the very first time in India, is now available once again at the Mehta International Eye Institute by Prof. Dr. Keiki Mehta was once again the first to have performed the 1st SMILE procedure at his Hospital.

For anyone seeking Vision Correction,

The Latest in Glaucoma Treatment

Prof. Keiki Mehta, one of India’s Top Paediatric Ophthalmic Surgeon, Awarded Excellence in Paediatric Ophthalmic Surgery by Dr. Kalekar, a senior ophthalmologist in Indore.

The latest advances in glaucoma surgery are SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) and MIGS (Micro Incision Glaucoma Surgery).

Currently, the goal of glaucoma surgery and other glaucoma treatment is to reduce or stabilize Intraocular Pressure (IOP). When this goal is accomplished, damage to ocular structures — especially the optic nerve — may be prevented.

All glaucoma surgery procedures (whether laser or non-laser) are designed to accomplish one of two basic results: decrease the production of intraocular fluid or increase the outflow of this same fluid.

A new laser procedure known as Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) is very effective for lowering internal eye pressure. This laser surgery might be considered a primary treatment, particularly for people who find it difficult to comply with the strict, regular schedule needed for administering eye drops for glaucoma. SLT creates minimal heat damage to adjacent tissues, which generally means the procedure can be repeated safely.

The latest and most successful technique is called MIGS, an acronym for Micro Incision Glaucoma Surgery. This technique uses shunts or stents, inserted into the eye, to increase outflow of intraocular fluid and reduce high eye pressure.

Ex-Press Glaucoma Filtration Device:
A miniature, stainless steel shunt for glaucoma surgery that is about the size of a grain of rice!

iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass:
This shunt system is made of surgical-grade titanium, to re-establish a more normal flow of fluids within the eye.

CyPass Micro-Stent:
Designed to be inserted in the eye during routine cataract surgery for cataract patients who also have open angle glaucoma.

The future of glaucoma treatment is, thus, well defined with the newest developments and the once dreaded diseases can be simply and effectively controlled.

Some glaucoma specialists, for example, say that long-term costs of drug treatments involving eye drops, which are quite costly, can be an economic burden that may be offset with the use of laser treatments.

Prof. Dr. Keiki Mehta with his New Diopsys NOVA ERG and VEP Vision Testing System with Prof. Marc Davis, the COA of Diopsys Inc, USA.

This is India’s first Electronic Automated Computerized RetinaNeural System.

This unit can, unlike older methods available, accurately predict damage to the eye from Diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma and age related macular degeneration almost 7 years before its onset.

This is the first predictive system available and is far better than the OCT (Optical Coherence) system available at present.

Diopsys’ modern visual electrophysiology, evaluates, in detail, the retina and the optic nerve and checks for glaucoma changes, macular degeneration, Diabetic retinopathy, Optic Neuritis, Amblyopia, toxic maculopathies permits rapid treatment and enhances patients’ chances for a lifetime of healthy vision.

Diopsys RetinaNeural unit can detect reasons for falling vision, especially in elderly. Effectively tracks result of treatment and progression for enhanced eye care.

Prof. Keiki continues being awarded for his Innovative, Outstanding and Latest and Advanced Surgical Excellence in Ophthalmic Surgeries at conferences both in India and Abroad.

Acclaimed as one of the foremost Eye Surgeons of the World he is invited to leading International Conferences, both, in India and Abroad to Operate LIVE and demonstrate the latest and most advanced techniques of surgery, in Cataract, Glaucoma, LASIK and SMILE.

Prof. Keiki Mehta is renowned internationally for his outstanding and innovative surgical skills, with the latest surgical technique, excellent diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and expertise with the most advanced machines, laser techniques and technologies, and specializes in Cataract, LASIK, Glaucoma, Retina, Cornea and Squint management, surgery and treatment.
