Priyanka, who celebrates her birthday on July 18, has rocked the film industry with ‘Don 2’ and ‘Agneepath’ in recent times. Her film ‘Barfee’ with Ranbir Kapoor is on the verge of release. RAJESH V. GAUR and SUNEEL V. GAUR managed to interview the super confident and supremely talented Priyanka Chopra recently. Excerpts from the interview:
Reports claim that you are seeing Shahid Kapoor again?
I have never said at any point of time that I was seeing Shahid Kapoor. Why should I speak about my personal relationships with the press. Having said that when Shahid and I are together we have a lot of fun.
How have movies changed you as a person?
The film industry is like a school where you have to learn despite bad films, bad costumes, rejections and bad performances. I find failure scary. I owe my perseverance to my parents who have always told me that it was okay to be awful before getting better.
Who would you pick if someone had to play you in a movie?
I have many facets to my personality. I guess the only one who could play my role in a movie would be me. (smiles).
Do you believe in destiny?
I am destiny’s child. I went from being an average 17-year-old to becoming Miss World. If that’s not destiny what is?
If you were to marry someone from the industry who would it be?
(laughs) Shahrukh Khan. He has all the qualities I want the guy I marry, to have.
How do you lighten things up when the situation gets volatile?
It’s all about getting your thoughts together. Take it easy and relax no matter how stressful things are. From some perspective things that happen are right. People who know me know that if at all I flare up, I cool down instantly too.
Are you a romantic at heart?
Tremendously. I live with romance in my thoughts. I am a true Cancerian. I cry during romantic scenes or while reading romantic novels, etc.
What qualities do you like in a guy?
I like guys who have drive and ambition. I like achievers and not the conventional type of guys.
If you were to describe yourself in three words?
Emotional, Wanderer (mind), Child like.
Your forthcoming films?
‘Barfee’ with Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Sahib Bibi aur Ghulam’ with Salman, ‘Krrish 3’ with Hrithik, ‘Kismat Talkies’ with Hrithik and ‘Chamki Chameli’.
