Trishla Jain: My art is celebration of the universe’s ultimate capacity for joy and laughter. Both the ephemeral wink of the present moment and the depths of the cosmic consciousness can be found within the layers of my wacky work. I believe both in Pada and Pranayam, in both the Guru and the G-spot. From skin to spirituality its all in the point.
Trishla Jain says her works are “found paintings”. Explanation: Douglas Crimp, the American professor of art history said in his book ‘On the Museum’s Ruins’: The artist invents nothing. He or she only uses, manipulates, displaces, reformulates, repositions what history has provided. The artist has foraged through the past to come up with her counterparts in the present and even as she contemplates the future.
Trisha who has a degree in English from the Stanford University is holding her second solo show at the BMB gallery. The show is titled ‘Tangerine Trees and Marmalade Skies’.
What strikes one first in her paintings is bright, vibrant colour. There are contrasts. In just one composition, there are many mini images. And words which convey messages. The show will go on till March 6. Contact: 9819616615.
