The Viewing Room presents ‘Twilight Tales’ by Gurucharan Singh – till Feb 18. Contact; 22830026/27.
Gurucharan Singh: “I love people who love life and make it a fulfilling experience. Living in a large family gave me insight into the myriad shades and hues of life and how the hopes, dreams and aspirations of each individual get realized in the harmonious living.
“The long span of life a man has is an interesting study. The confluence of complexities of multi-cultural society test his resolve in many ways. People of all ages and groups get together in my paintings and weave a rich and colourful fabric of life. To be blissful is to be absolutely ordinary. Here the life lived is not exclusive but inclusive in which plants and trees, fruit and flowers, birds and animals participate along with men, women and children to give it a meaning.
The exhibition has canvas works by the artist. Among one of the noted achievements of the artist is the collaboration with sernior artist Krishen Khanna – in which Gurucharan has painted one of India’s largest murals – which is not at the lobby of the Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi.
