A 59-year old was burnt by a man who allegedly poured kerosene on him over business issues at Ulhasnagar on Monday morning. The accused fled after pouring kerosene. Police booked a case under Attempt to Murder and are hunting for the accused.
The police said the incident occurred at Ulhasnagar Railway station east on Monday morning. The victim is identified as Chandarlal Ramrakhiyani,59, resident of Ulhasnagar while the accused is identified as Suresh who is a resident of Ulhasnagar. The victim runs a Mumbai Mahalaxmi Vada pav shop in Ulahasnagar. The two got into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, the accused Suresh took a bucket with filled kerosene and entered the victim’s shop and poured it on him. He then lit and threw matches on him and burnt him and fled from the spot. Locals rushed to the spot to help the victim who was yelling for help while he was on fire. The locals took him to Central Hospital where the doctor declared the burn percentage is around 70 to 75 percentage. He was then shifted to National Burn Center in Navi Mumbai.
Speaking to Afternoon D&C, Kashinath Kamble, Police Constable from Vitthalwadi Police station, “We formed a team including people from the crime branch and we are trying to search for the accused. We have booked him under section 307 (Attempt to murder) of Indian Penal Code. The victim is now at the National Burn Center in Navi Mumbai as his condition is deteriorated”.
