The Nizampura police along with health department officer of the Bhiwandi civic body have arrested a fake dentist, wherein the accused has been running his clinic since one year. The police officials said the dentist clinic was sealed by health officials, who  also seized all medical equipments in the dispensary.

''The accused has been identified as Atir Mushtak Ahmad Momin, 27, who is a resident of Bhiwandi. A medical officer had lodged a complaint against him, after which we arrested him," said a police official.

Vidya Shetty, a medical officer from the health department said, "We got his complaint from the Indian Dental Association (IDA), that he ran a dental clinic in the Bramanali area at Bhiwandi, without having a proper degree certificate. A few months ago, we had visited the clinic with other medical officers for verification of his degree certificate, but he told us that his degree documents were at his residence. We then gave him a warning so that he would ensure to keep his degree documents and licence at the clinic.''

According to a medical officer from the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation, he had dropped out from the second year of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). He had pursued the course from a Nashik college. A raid was conducted by Dr. Vidya Shetty, under the guidance of the Bhiwandi Municipal commissioner, Yogesh Mhase. "When we visited his clinic and saw him treating a patient in the clinic, we immediately informed the police and arrested him," Shetty said.
