A 68-year-old Canadian woman, who seemed passionate about sports shooting, was arrested after she was found with 38 live cartridges at the Mumbai international airport, the police told PTI.

Irene Mathias, who was scheduled to take a British Airways flight to London on Tuesday, was found carrying 38 live cartridges in her luggage by Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport security personnel, while checking in, Sahar police station’s senior inspector Ravindra Patil said. “Security men at the airport brought her to the police station after which she was arrested under relevant sections of the Arms Act,” Patil said.
