Sector E, where the major cylinder blast occurred in a bakery yesterday, killing four and injuring 28, is quite near to the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC).

What becomes evident now is that, thanks to police and civic lapses and apathy, this bakery could be one of the many illegal manufacturing units that have come up close to this sensitive area which also has an atomic reactor. Witnesses said that, in proximity to the BARC, there are many illegal constructions and other manufacturing units but local the police station is not taking any action against them.
