'Extreme political diarrhea freezes the mind and brains of those in power'

Whatever faint glimmer of hopes of possible pre-poll alliance between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that many had pinned their hopes on seem to be fading fast.

The cordiality between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Sena president Uddhav Thackeray seems to be over. Taking on Fadnavis for his claims of winning 43 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the Sena while slamming the Chief Minister sarcastically remarked “What else can they do who say we shall defeat this fellow, defeat that fellow?”
So far, the Sena had refrained from politically attacking the Chief Minister given his cordial relations with Thackeray, not withstanding the constant snipping at the government and the BJP.

In a hard-hitting sarcastic editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana' yesterday, the Sena remarked “Who does not want to be in power, everybody wants it. But to remain 24 hours in its (power) inebriated state, get tipsy and speak incoherently is not good. He (Fadnavis) has the solution to win 43 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Let the people die, the state turn to ashes, but politics should survive. Today all that is going on is we will defeat this fellow and that fellow. In this intoxicated state tomorrow, these people will fall down. Even then, they will continue to behave as if they are still trumps. Cold freezes water droplets and extreme political diarrhea freezes the mind and brains of those in power.”

The Sena further remarked that one needs to compliment Fadnavis for his self-confidence. Referring to Fadnavis assertion in presence of BJP president Amit Shah in Pune recently of winning 43 seats in 2019 from the 42 seats it won in 2014, it added that the Chief Minister even boasted of winning Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar bastion of Baramati. To which, the NCP chief in his inimitable style wished Fadnavis good luck.

Taking a further dig at the Chief Minister, the Sena further remarked that owing to the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and this frothy self-confidence, the BJP can win all the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and 548 Lok Sabha seats in the country. At this rate, they can bloom the 'Lotus' in London and America, it further added. Slamming Fadnavis further the Sena wanted to know as to why the Lotus of Ram Mandir did not bloom in Ayodhya in all these years that it has been in power?

It added that the farmers are facing a crisis, the Center has paid peanuts for drought hit Maharashtra. Instead of talking on these issues, these people are talking about defeating this fellow and that fellow. “The issue of Sena-BJP pre-poll alliance is left hanging mid-air. But this situation is not of our creation. The seeds of this sin were sown by the BJP itself in 2014. Power comes and goes. Waves come and go. Accidents do happen in democracy. But it is for the people only to find a way out of such accidents,” adds the editorial further.
