Sensation homoeopathy, an advancement in homoeopathy that helps doctors understand the patient better and prescribe a more accurate remedy out of the 4,000 remedies available in homoeopathy, is very interesting. Sensation homoeopathy follows nature’s laws and it categorises the patient into three kingdoms seen in nature namely plant, animal and minerals. And once this is done, the person is given medicines derived from that particular kingdom.
This latest evolution in the 200-year-old therapy has been triggered by noted homeopath Dr. Rajan Sankaran. In a 10-day long seminar in the city, jointly organised by the World Institute for Sensation Homeopathy (WISH) and International Academy of Advanced Homeopathy, The Other Song, had doctors from US, UK, Germany, Egypt, Israel and Japan talking about their experiences with patients after employing this new form of holistic treatment.
Speaking about this mode of treatment, Dr. Meghna Shah, Dean, The Other Song said, “We categorise the patient on the basis of the fundamental feeling in him. It is not about treating the disease only. It about tackling the base underlying vital sensation which is a junction between the mental and the physical state that boils to one particular sensation.”
Simplifying this, Dr. Shah said, “If a person has malaria, we will talk to him and find out his vital sensation i.e., a correlation between his mental and physical state.
Then we will see into which kingdom he fits in and treat not only his physical problem but also his fundamental feeling. This is important because if the fundamental feeling is not treated then the physical problem may re-occur or manifest itself again in some other form. For us, disease is not an organ pathology. It is a general state which is beyond organs. It is about finding out who is the person who has got the disease.”
Sensation homoeopathy claims to be able to treat a spectrum of diseases ranging from simple allergies like skin allergy, joint problems, to major illnesses like auto immune disorders and acute illnesses like pneumonia and malaria. It is supposed to have bettered people with cancer also but Dr. Shah said the numbers aren’t still very large.
But 23-year-old Sneha (name changed) from Mumbai can vouch for this mode of treatment because she was diagnosed with benign tumour in her breast in year 2004 and in 2007 she began her treatment with Dr. Sujit Chatterjee who practices at Dadar and is a consultant at The Other Song. Since then she has just gotten better with time. “I did not want to undergo a surgery because there was no guarantee that the tumour wouldn’t come back. Since 2007, I am being treated with sensation homoeopathy and I am so much better now,” said Sneha who herself is a physiotherapist.
Sneha is optimistic that within a year and a half, all her tumours should go away.
From 1 July 2011, the day academy started functioning to December 31, 2011 The Other Song has seen 23 cancer patients out of which three were on stage two, five were at stage three and fifteen were on stage four. Out of these, ten are improving, eight are showing no change, two dropped the treatment and three passed away.
