MMRDA has sent a notice to the contractor to collect the penalty fine

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Development Authority (MMRDA) is unlikely to start the monorail services this month, missing yet another deadline, as two more rakes are awaited. Officials said that once the sixth rake arrives the development authority is expected to get a nod from the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) to start both the monorail corridors.

The 20-km long monorail corridor from Chembur to Jacob Circle has missed several deadlines since last year. MMRDA officials said the entire monorail corridor may start next month, subject to CRS approval. The 8.8-km long Phase I corridor from Chembur to Wadala was commissioned in February 2014, however, the services remained suspended after two coaches of the rake caught fire on November 9 last year. The 10.6-km long monorail Phase II corridor was supposed to be operational from February 1 this year.  MMRDA officials claimed that the development authority is waiting for a total of seven rakes to start the services, out of which they already have five rakes ready. A senior MMRDA official said, “We will be getting the sixth monorail rake by the end of this month. Once we get it, we will seek the CRS approval, after which we will start both the monorail services together. We are trying our best to start the operations by next month.”

The development authority has sent a notice to the contractor to pay the fine for the delay in the operations of the monorail Phase II services. The entire amount, per day, will be collected from the contractor as a penalty by the MMRDA.

Same is the case with your personal life. What more does one need? Ganesha is probably trying to teach you to be content. Extravagance of any kind will cause you money problems. Be particularly careful about this.
