Operation to capture the two cubs and shift them to a rescue centre on

The uninformed discourse surrounding unfortunate death of Avni, the T1 tigress. On one hand the government has ordered a probe in the killing, at the same time the sharpshooter Shafat Ali Khan has now come for the rescue of the Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.

Khan has made it clear that he is ready to face any probe into the shooting of a man-eater tigress.

The episode of shooting tigress has virtually shook the entire country. Animal lovers across the world mourned her death and are now worried about the future of her two cubs. Serious concerns are being expressed about the way the whole operation was carried out by the state Forest Department.

Nevertheless, in the whole controversy the man who is under fire is a hunter Shafat Khan. As the hue and cry continued, Khan who was tight-lipped after the incident, has broken his silence. He said, “We are ready for any inquiry at any level. Nothing illegal has happened. In fact, we want an inquiry so that the truth will come out”.

Shafat Ali Khan, whose son Asghar Ali Khan shot dead the tigress, has also stated that those sitting in air-conditioned rooms 1,000 km away and making allegations against them did not know the facts.

“We are still very much part of the operation to achieve its second object, capturing two cubs of the tigress and shift them to a rescue centre. There is no threat to them. They are 11-month-old so they are not cubs. Technically we call them sub-adults. They are bigger than leopards and can catch their prey,” he added further.
