In a shocking case, a tiff over a trivial issue with her mother drove a 23-year-old housewife to commit suicide at her residence in Bhayandar (East) on Tuesday.
According to the Navghar police, the woman identified as Durga Karmveer Singh (23), committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan of her first floor apartment in Laxmi Chhaya building, after she was reprimanded by her mother for not getting up early and doing her household chores in time.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Durga who was staying with her parents along with her husband and a four-year-old son was a short-tempered woman and after being scolded by her mother she took the extreme step in a fit of rage, police said.
“There is nothing suspicious in the case and is clearly a case of suicide,” said an investigating official.
