Students of Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) flex creative muscle by highlighting corruption issues through a showcase of short films

Students from Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) showcased a series of 7 short films as part of their commitment to spearhead an awareness drive against corruption. The students acted in, conceived the plots and directed the films which exhibited their visions of an ideal and corruption-free society. The films were part of a broader exercise to comply with the Central Vigilance Commission’s Vigilance Awareness Week, themed around 'My Vision”-Corruption Free India'. The Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed from October 30 to November 4.

Geeta Ajit, Assistant Professor, Business Communication of VESIT said, “Corruption is a social evil that impacts all strata of society. A sustainable awareness campaign against corruption should be encouraged across all educational campuses in the country. The films made by the students are the defining perspectives of a generation yearning for societal change and development.”

Students of the institute, too had bullish opinions about the array of talent on display. “The visual medium makes a lasting impression on the human mind. Through these films, we have reiterated the commitment of a generation towards spreading corruption awareness and promoting the values of honesty and transparency,” said Harsh Bhatia, a student.

Harsh's classmate Deeksha Shetty, too feels that corruption  has loosened the moral fabric of our society. "Corruption has created an unfavorable environment where development is not possible. We have taken this occasion to unveil our idea of a society where there is equitable distribution of resources and every individual gets an equal chance to realize his or her self-worth,” he said.

12 teams of 4 students each participated in the event which provided them a platform to display their film-making skills and talent. Three teams were declared as winners and consolation prizes were awarded to all participants.

Same is the case with your personal life. What more does one need? Ganesha is probably trying to teach you to be content. Extravagance of any kind will cause you money problems. Be particularly careful about this.
