Real voices of Mumbai

Do you agree with Supreme Court's decision to cap lawyers fee to end commercialisation of the legal profession?

This is a very good judgement by the Supreme Court. According to me, lawyers are the biggest liars. They charge enormous fees from persons and don't see whether they can afford to pay or not. This is a very good decision made by the Supreme court and this will help everyone.

I don't agree with it since there is no cap on salary or fees for corporate companies then why should lawyers bear the brunt of this decision? Instead, the SC could think of giving them mandatory public cases to take on, like a community service program which is compulsory.

Great decision by the Supreme Court. This will help keep the law and order intact. Money is creating a gap between poor and rich as poor people can't afford to pay the fees of the experienced lawyers. Commercialisation of the legal profession is not ideal for our country so it should be stopped and monitored.

Chetan Gusani

I agree because more people will have access to lawyers and it will be of convenience when people need lawyers to fight their cases in necessary situations, and famous lawyers will be accessible to many more people.

Commercialisation has reached its peak. People find it difficult to get justice as lawyers charge the people massive fees. This is a good step taken by the Supreme Court.

According to me, due to the high fees, the poor people find it difficult to get justice. After this step has been taken by the Supreme Court, what will happen now is that it will cap lawyers fee and hence people from poor financial backgrounds will find it easy to get justice as they can afford the lawyers fees.
