Four senior officials of Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) were injured after they were allegedly attacked by around three workers over the issue of non-payment of allowances on Monday, police said.
According to police, around three workers of the Thane transport body, who are yet to be identified, attacked the TMT administrative officers including Damodar Nankar over the issue of payment of allowances and other benefits.
The incident took place at the Wagle Estate depot this afternoon, police said adding that the injured official was admitted to a local hospital.The assailants were booked under Section 353 of the IPC, but no arrests have been made so far, police added.
According to sources, there is unrest among transport workers against administration's attitude over payment of allowances.Further investigations are on.
