Klassical Rhythms (UAE) presented the debut 'Bharatanatyam' performance by charming danseuse Tanvi Kanchan at the Mysore Assciation auditorium, Matunga, on Sunday. Tanvi's  technique, complemented by her considerable command over expressional dancing won her instant appreciation from the packed audience. She is the disciple of accomplished Bharata Natyam exponent, Guru Rohini Ananth, who heads Klassical Rhythms (UAE) and Swaralaya School of Performing Arts in India, acclaimed for her her several performances and credited for teaching young aspirants.

Besides the invocation, Tanvi proved her prowess as a dancer in the traditional 'Alarippu' followed with the 'Ranjani Jatiswaram' that formed a fine synthesis of both music and melody. The latter was a composition by 'Karnataka Kallashri' Ranganayaki Rajan and sung brilliantly by Dr Ranjani Ganesan Ramesh. While Devarnama procalimed 'daivata' philosophy of 'Madhavacharya', the 'Charuskeshi Varnam', 'Innum Yen Manam' revealed the emotional state of the heroine, as she longs to meet her Lord. Besides the 'Padam' and 'Keertanam', the 'Javali' was on a lighter note, as the Lord arrives in the wee hours of the morning after spending the night elsewhere. Disturbed by this, she asks him to leave. Swati Tirunal's 'Dhanasri Thillana' formed the grand finale revealing Tanvi's command over technique and intricate footwork. Tanvi is indeed blessed with all the necessary qualities to become a fine exponent.

Tanvi recieved fine orchestral support from Guru Vidushi Rohiini Anant for 'nattuvangam', vocals by Dr Ranjani Ganesan, Mumbai Shankaranaryanan for 'mridangam', Balasubramaniam playing the violin, Bhaskaran on the flute and Dhunush who handled special effects.
