Mukta Barve’s wonderful new play
Actress Mukta Barve has come out with a new Marathi play 'Dhai Akshar Prem Ke', based on V.P. Kale’s novel 'Tu Bhramat Ahasi Vaya' which is to be staged next month. The play is directed by Digpal Lanjekar and produced by Dinu Pednekar. Ajay Purkar is playing the lead role, while Rhucha Kelkar is making her debut in the play. Sachin Deshpande, Atul Mahajan, Tejas Kulkarni, Nitish Ghare and Ashwini Kulkarni are the co-stars. This is Mukta’s fourth professional play. It deals with the issue of loneliness arising out of self-concentration and consequently strained relations. It also seeks to give a message that one can be happy living in the present, taking things in yourstride.

My wife’s lover – it’s a  movie
New Marathi film 'Majhya Baykocha Priykar' (My wife’s lover), a family entertaining film, is slated to hit cinema houses soon. It has been directed by Rajiv Ruia. The film shot in Pune and Mumbai, has four songs, including an item song picturised on Meera Joshi. Aniket Vishwasrao, Bhagyashri Mote, Anshuman Vichare, Priya Gamre, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Bharat Ganeshpure, Anupama Takmoghe, Padma Singh and Swati are in lead roles.

Natya Parishad polls
The process of election of the Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad, is expected to begin either on November 20 or December 5, 2017. The president of the Parishad was elected unanimously for the last 4 years. But it is for the first time an election is being held in polling booths, Parishad Secretary Deepak Karanjikar said. There are 65 branches of the Parishad in Maharashtra and Gurunathbhau Dalvi will be an election officer. People who have been active in the field for two years will be made members and will also be allowed to contest.

‘Devaa’ to release soon
Marathi movie 'Devaa' is slated to be released in December throughout Maharashtra. A trailer and title song of this film was recently released. Ankush, Tejswini and Maya are in lead roles, besides Spruha Joshi who also plays an important character. Glimpses of the late Reema Lagoo can also be seen in this film. The film has been directed by Murli Nalappa. The film unfolds aspects of a derailed life.

Live music concert
The HURT (Human Rights) Foundation is organising a fund-raising live music concert featuring Ghazal maestro Jaswinder Singh. 'Justujoo' will be held at the Nehru Centre on Friday, November 24, at 7.30 p.m.

Aparna Kelkar’s concert
The 90th Pratahswar, the morning raga series by Pancham Nishad presents talented and mellifluous vocalist Aparna Kelkar. She will be accompanied by Prasad Padhye on (Tabla) and Suyog Kundalkar on (Harmonium). The morning concert will be held at Kala Prangan, Pu. La. Deshpande, Maharashtra Kala Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, on November 26, at 6:30 am. This is a non-ticketed concert and is open to all. The event is exclusively supported by Tata Capital.

Kathak performance
Manas Cultural Trust presents a unique innovative performance in the Kathak style 'Space Beyond Space Within', choreographed by Manisha Jeet. Performers are Manisha Jeet and Sunil Sunkara on Thursday November 23, 7:00 pm, at the Veer Savarkar auditorium.

‘Ghaat’  ready for release
The new Marathi film 'Ghaat' based on the life of two boys... Manya and Pappya, deprived of their childhood, is slated to be released on December 15, throughout Maharashtra. The film is directed by Raj Gorde and produced by Sachin Jare. Yash Kulkarni is essaying the role of Manya, while Dattatraya Dharme has played the character of Pappya. Mitali Jagtap, Umesh Jagtap  and Riya Gawali are in lead roles. The film depicts, how people residing near pilgrim spots badly depend upon the 'Ghaat' (a place at the edge of a river/lake).
