Rainy raagas
'Malhar Rang' (Seasons Melodious Expression) presented by Pancham Nishad will feature two talented and highly trained and evolved vocalists – Apoorva Gokhale and Suresh Bapat. This amazing musical rendezvous is scheduled to be held at the Veer Savarkar Sabhagruha, Shivaji Park, Dadar, on Saturday, August 25, 8.00 pm onwards. Malhar ragas like 'Miyan Malhar', 'Gaud Malhar' and 'Megh Malhar', are traditionally sung or played on instruments preferably in the monsoon season. The rain helps in capturing the spirit of the ragas.

‘Pari Hoon...’ trailer launched
Trailer of the Phalke Award-winning Marathi film 'Pari Hoon Main' (releasing on September 7) was recently launched at the hands of Amey Pratap Singh. The story, has been written by Iravati Karnik, with music by Samir Saptiskar. The film seeks to deal with how a middle class family transforms once it gets fame. Nandu Madhav, Devika, Daftrdar Flora, Shruti Nigade are in important roles.

Pankaj Udhas performance
Ghazal Maestro Padmashree Pankaj Udhas is to perform at the 'Sukoon' live Ghazal concert on Friday, August 24, at the Nehru Centre Auditorium, Worli, at 7.00 pm. The Pankaj Udhas Live Ghazal Concert would be featuring all his hit Ghazals and Nazms along with his film songs.

Cultural tribute to Ram Gadkari
A special cultural tribute program titled 'Kshan Ek Pure Premacha' is being organised on the occasion of the centenary of noted litterateur, the late Ram Ganesh Gadkari, on Sunday, August 26 at 5.00 pm, at the Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre (DMCC). The event will be organised with cooperation of Dr Sudha Joshi, Pramod Pawar, Sanjay Mone, Upendra Date, Rajani Velankar, Rutuja Deshmukh and Purvi Bhave. Manisha P. will compere the program. The DMCC has urged all art-literary lovers to attend the program in large numbers.

Variety nritya-dhaara
A production that will take you river-rafting, with traditional songs and dances that visualize the beauty of various sacred rivers streaming in India. Rivers such as Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra and Kaveri will be portrayed by young celebrity artistes such as Vidha Lal (Kathak), Prateeksha Kashi (Kuchipudi), Vrinda Chadha (Odissi) and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy (Bharatanatyam). 'Multi-Dance Style', Friday, August 24, 6.30 pm at the Experimental Theatre, NCPA.
