‘SurSagar’ presents Bhagyashree Deshpande
Music lovers will be in for a treat this Friday as Bhagyashree Deshpande, one of the most talented and versatile vocalist of Mewati Gharana, will perform in the monthly series of ‘SurSagar’— A rising star every month, accompanied by Prasad Sutar on (tabla) and Mandar Dikshit on (harmonium) at Sri Shanmukhananda Padma Ranga Chamber Music Hall, Sion, Friday, 7.30 pm.

Mehfil-e-Malhar
The Khayal Trust has organised a different thematic programme which will offer insights into the various 'prakaars' of 'Malhar'. Dr Prakash Sangeet, a senior vocalist and an AIR veteran, as well as Dr Chaitanya — his son and pupil — will sing these melodies. Ramdas Mhatre will be on tabla and Prakash Chitnis on the harmonium. Sunday, 5.00 pm, Cama Hall, ground floor, Savarkar Smarak, Shivaji Park.

Meghdeep makes musical waves
Although he is a versatile Bollywood music producer, composer-singer, Meghdeep Bose (aka MDB) is Indie-culture-savvy with a flair for Indian classical music. The 27-year-old trained Meghdeep has acquired proficiency in classical vocals, playing tabla, western classical piano and even in Rabindra Sangeet. Music luminary Amaal Malik has collaborated with Meghdeep on various chartbusting songs including ‘Main Hoon Tera Hero’. Multi-award-winning Meghdeep, known for his work in the trending disco-anthem ‘Swag Sey Swaagat’ and in tracks of ‘Helicopter Eela’ has been appreciated by top film composers like Pritam-Da, Amit Trivedi, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal-Shekhar and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for his amazing musical calibre.

Music launch of ‘Tu Tithhe Asaave’
G Kumar Patil Entertainment's Marathi film 'Tu Tithhe Asaave' was recently launched. Dinesh Arjuna has scored the super-hit music with top playback singers Adarsh Shinde, Vaishali Made, Swapnil B, Bela Shende, Jasraj Joshi and Neha Rajpal. Eminent actors Bhushan Pradhan, Pallavi Patil, Vijay Patkar, Samir Dharmadhikari, Arun Nalawade, Mohan Joshi, Jaywant Wadkar, Shrikant Vattamwar, Abhilasha Patil, Vishakha Ghube and Master Tejas Patil play important roles. The film produced by Ganesh-ji Patil is slated to be released soon.
 
‘Hrudayaat Something Something’
THE trailer of Marathi film 'Hrudayat Something Something', directed by Pravinbhau Raja Karale, was recently launched at a glittering function. The film releases on October 5. The actors — Aniket Vishwasrao, Sneha Chavan, Bhushan Kadu, Priyanka Yadav and Ashok Saraf — and members of the music team were present at the occasion. Producer Vinodkumar Jain said that he had been longing to produce a pure comedy film. The terrific response received by the super-hit songs gives us confidence. Prolific writer Anil Madhusudan Kalelkar said 'Hrudayaat Something Something' is his 29th film.

Marathi play ‘Teraa Diwas Premaache’
Prayog Factory and Jivhala's new popular Marathi play ‘Teraa Diwas Premaache’, has been keeping viewers spell-bound ever since it was launched on August 16 at Shivaji Mandir. This is playwright, director-producer Anand Mhasvekar’s 22nd Marathi play, which seeks to strike a balance between seriousness and entertainment in a subtle way. Seasoned actors Arun Nalawade, Madhavi Dabholkar, Sharvari Gaikwad, Devesh Kale, Suchit Thakur, Geeta Shinde and Sanjay Deshpande are essaying important roles.
