IN particular, Fateh Mohammed Khatri, head of the Enterprise which is doing so well in Maharashtra. The company, which is based in Khar, has some piquantly couched information on its website. For instance, it would appear that most of its completed projects are based out of Maharashtra, in Rajasthan, MP and even Chattisgarh.
But when it comes to projects in hand and projects in the pipeline, it is jai ho Maharashtra alone.
The tone, of course, is self-laudatory in the extreme. So a day after the government scraps the Kondhane Dam project in Raigad, the website still talks about the Chilhewadi irrigation project in Pune district, built at a cost of Rs.102 crore on a turnkey basis, for which the chief engineer of the Maharashtra Krishna Valley development Corporation, Pune, “appreciated our performance not only in its successful execution but also for relentless efforts in land acquisition and forestland clearance.”
Forestland clearance is a crime unless the MOEF has given sanction. It would be interesting to learn if F A Enterprises had this sanction. Or perhaps, the Chief Engineer who appreciated the institution so much, had taken it upon himself to hand out permissions.
