In Brief

Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, daughter of film star Amitabh Bachchan, will soon release her debut novel Paradise Towers. The novel is set in a fictional building by that name in central Mumbai and involves a quirky set of characters each of whom has a story to tell. Or, as a write-up promoting the book says, maybe they have a story to hide!

On Tuesday, it was the 17th anniversary of 9/11 when two aircraft held hostage by terrorists crashed into the twin World Trade Centre buildings in New York, bringing them down and killing a few thousand people. As Sandy Dahl, wife of Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl (which went down), said then: “…If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and that there is no time for hate.”
