Kangana Ranaut gets super busy

Friday, September 07, 2018

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who plays the historical Rani Laxmibai in the film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ has reportedly taken over directorial reins for the film, reports the media. It seems that there was some unpleasantness when it was discovered that the former director of the film, who was reportedly in a hurry to get over with the film (as he had another film commitment pending) hadn’t adhered to the script. So now the producers have commissioned Kangana as director and ordered an additional 45-day shooting schedule for which they have allotted Rs20 crore.  The actress-cum-director is on a tight schedule, however. According to media sources, Kangana will have to deliver the first cut by mid-October, the teaser is expected to be launched on Gandhi Jayanti (Oct 2) with the trailer launch scheduled for mid-November. All leading up to the rescheduled release of the film on January 25 2019. We have to hand it to the lady – in spite of the tough time-table the actress kept her speaking date with the Xin Philanthropy Conference in Delhi last Wednesday, where she spoke about women’s rights and the fact that women in power are often “harassed and bullied” among other things. Hey Kangs, we hope that despite all the many obstacles, you come up trumps with this movie. Why? Because we’d like to see a gutsy woman like you score, that’s why!
