Queenie Singh launches her new jewellery collection

Jewellery designer Queenie Singh had a collection launch last week that was attended by Sushmita Sen, Shobhaa De, Rhea Pillai, Lara Dutta and Mandira Bedi, among others. Queenie has just wrapped up an eight-day African safari holiday with husband Rishi Sethia and her kids Tiara and Rajveer where the family was in the midst of nature at the Singita lodge in Tanzania, a region without “man-made interferences” as she puts it. Queenie’s new jewellery line, she tells us, is called ‘The Red Carpet Collection’ with each piece aiming to be a statement, superior gems and painstaking craftsmanship. Some of her pieces feature animals -- panthers, tigers and snakes -- while others showcase butterflies and roses in three-dimensional glory. Held in the presidential suite of a premium Lower Parel hotel, the event also saw Laila Khan, Madhoo Shah, Kajal Anand, Krishika Lulla, Rouble Nagi and Smita Thackeray drop in to wish the designer. Before she resumes her packed itinerary – which includes visiting Delhi, Chandigarh, Moscow, Ahmedabad, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles, all within this month! – Queenie informs us the new jewellery line is currently available at her designer store in Bandra ‘Jewels by Queenie’ on Waterfield Road.
