Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is promoting women's causes

Wednesday, February 28, 2018

Spiritualist Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living community has just wrapped up a three-day international women’s conference at his home base near Bengaluru (Bangalore) that featured at least 500 women achievers attending. Included among them were our very own Rani Mukerji Chopra and SBI former chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya. The conference which concluded last Sunday, had women from 60 countries attending and included an address by Sri Sri himself. What did he say? Among the things the maestro talked about was that gender equality is to be honoured in every country and that it must be emphasised. “If there are more women religious leaders, perhaps there won’t be religious conflicts in the world today. Don’t listen to anybody say that women cannot lead religious or spiritual areas. If religious leaders take up gender equality, it (the movement) can go up very fast and very smooth.” Author Amish Tripathi who was a speaker at the conference and met up one-on-one with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, later tweeted: “Attended the International Women's Conference at @ArtofLiving ashram Bengaluru, during the weekend. Was honoured to speak there. Was even more honoured to spend some time with and learn from Gurudev.” Well then, did the famous author find his Muse there?
