We are informed that IIFA nominees are eagerly preparing for the awards, and whether you win or lose, it does not matter in the end, thanks to the ‘goody bags’ that have been put together for the event, which kicked off yesterday, with an inaugural (see pic). Today, 22,000 fans will be in attendance at the Rogers Centre, in Toronto and will reach out to an estimated 700 million fans worldwide.
But back to the goody bag, the contents of which have been described as ‘incredible’. Here’s a sneak peek into their depths.
MAC cosmetics, the official make-up sponsor for IIFA. Haircare products from Marc Anthony, with products tailored to meet the unique styling needs of each recipient.
A custom handmade leather bag from Roots, a Canadian lifestyle brand that makes all leather goods in Toronto. Additionally, two very lucky stars will be presented with exclusive Roots-IIFA ‘special edition’ jackets.
Signature eco-friendly bags from The Bay to hold all the swag. Ice-wine supplied by the Estate winery, Iniskillen. Teeth whitening products. Eco-friendly lingerie supplied by Kaia and Me. Chick jewellery and accessories. Cadillac Perfumes. Chocolates from Old Firehall. Designer pens from Rotomac.
Now, here’s what the goody bags at the Oscars had this year. And incidentally, selected celebs and winners are also invited to what they now call ‘gifting suites’ in various hotels, where all the best brands collectively display their stuff and if you are a lucky invitee, you walk in and make a selection.
A $12,000 Belize getaway in Cayo Espanto – a private island; a $5,000 all-inclusive week-long fitness retreat from Live In Fitness Enterprise; a $16,000 all-inclusive getaway to Huvafen Fushi luxury resort in the Maldives; a Motorola Zoom Tablet.
A Kim Kardashian Signature Watch by The Brissmor Company, couture tunics, Italian silk neckwear with Swarovski crystals; a gift certificate worth $875;
Huntley Drive Fitness personal training packages and a slimming body wrap, plus 10 personal-training sessions valued at $850; Wreaking Balm Tattoo Removal; stem cell-based anti-aging serum worth $375; a limited edition spaceship model from Virgin Galactic, all-natural dog-cleaning supplies; electronic cigarettes.
Plus more, at a price total of $75,000. They call it ‘no-one loses at the Oscars’.
The winners, also, reportedly got a secret bag said to contain 21 stays, three nights each, at a luxury hotel, worth $1,51,000. Not bad for the movies!
And it kind of knocks the International Indian Film Awards into a little cocked hat!
