Twinkle Khanna gets humorous, again

Monday, September 10, 2018

Trust Twinkle Khanna a.k.a Mrs Funnybones to say something as classic and amusing as she did during the launch of her new book ‘Pyjamas Are Forgiving’ last week. At the book launch, the media quoted the once-actress and third-time novelist as saying: “I haven’t given a single hit, in fact. I think that all my films should be banned so that no one can watch it (them!)” Truly the actress has, almost since the beginning, made no bones about the fact that she hadn’t enjoyed her Bollywood acting stint in the least. In fact, she has been quoted as saying that she pretends that she has never been in the movies at all – “The only job I had before was selling prawns door to door. That's what I tell myself. My kids have never seen my films. I'm too embarrassed to show them.” She also admits that she’s become more diplomatic about other people’s films now. Twinkle says that she once went to the premiere of a film, and the producer asked her if she liked it. “I said it's crap. But I don't say that anymore. Now I say I have to think about it. If you ever hear me say that, you know the answer!” On the other hand it’s clear that she has a marked preference for things concerned with writing and literature. As she once said, her father (the late film star Rajesh Khanna) was very fond of reading and it was something they did at their home – “I don't think it fits the way people think Bollywood works, but that's who we are.” We’d like to say that here’s a lady who takes after our own heart – so glad to be on the same side of the planet as colleague and newspaper columnist with you, Twinkle!
