Not fighting fit

Thursday, March 08, 2018

CHINA's militarisation of regions near Doklam has been growing throughout the year. Doklam is a China-India disputed area. India seems to have decided to face reality and like China began peaceful militarisation, last year after a troop face-off between India and China in the region for as many as 73  days. China was also forced to stop extending a vital road in the area. Since then, China's People's Liberation Army has done a lot of military work defying India's obstruction. It has built crucial military infrastructure, helipads and deployed around 1,600 troops through the winter. This is the first time China has done it. This shows that China suspects counteraction by India.

India is taking counter measures. Disputes arise along the 4,000 mile boundary line between the two countries. India has about 1,000 troops in the area. Regular flag meetings, personnel meetings are taking place. India or China is not carrying out any attacks. Whenever there are any differences, they are sorted out.

India does not want war with China. but on the Chinese side, there are provocations all the time. If there is armed confrontation it is because of the efforts of China. It was China which militarised the area first. China has become slow however and shown India it does not want war and it will cooperate. Both India and China can show that war is not necessary and all border disputes can be solved by peacefully joint efforts. China would have made military preparations at Doklam much more if it had war in mind. China knows that the boundary area can be negotiated with India peacefully. The deserted border areas are not worth fighting for.
