Maruti Suzuki’s ‘Colour of Youth’ took place at the Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai on February 15 after the city selections that happened in 10 major cities of India in various schools. This event brought together students from B-schools and professional colleges to display their various talents such as dance, music, painting, stand-up, comedy and more.
To select the three teams out of eight participating groups for the big finale in Delhi on March 6 and 7, a jury was present at every step. Musician Subir Malik and international model and former Miss World Diana Hayden advised the young participants. According to Diana Hayden it was a difficult task to choose among the young talented lot. “It is easier to judge than to be on stage,” said Hayden describing her dilemma.
Subir Malik, on his side, provided the music groups with advice on vocals and melody. “It is great to see that they incorporated our advice during the previous selection to their performance,” said Diana Hayden. After being judged over their performance they had to take a general awareness quiz to select the finalists.
The event was, “A good way to provide a platform to the youth to showcase their various talents and express themselves,” according to Sunila Dhar, Deputy General Manager, Media, Manili.
The three finalist teams belong to Symbiosis Institute of International Business, International School of Business and Media and Dr. V.N. Bedekar Institute from Pune, Viman Nagar (Pune) and Mumbai respectively.
