ACHARYA P. C. RAY NATIONAL CHEMISTRY QUIZ CONTEST
The year 2011 is being worldwide celebrated as International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011) under the unifying theme ‘Chemistry –our life, our future,’ In order to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry and 150th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) organized a National Level Chemistry Quiz for students of VIII to X standard all over India. It was conducted at all the 27 Science Centres under the National Council of Science Museums all over India. 1320 Participants from 490 Schools participated in the quiz. Dr. Amit Mitra, Finance Minister, Government of
West Bengal, Mr. Jawhar Sarkar, Secretary, Minister of Culture, Government of India and Prof. Siddhartha Ray, Director, IICB, Kolkata awarded the winning team.
MET MUSIC THERAPYCONVOCATION CEREMONY
Recently, MET witnessed the MET Music Therapy Convocation Ceremony for its second batch of graduating students. The Chief Guest Anup Jalota popularly known as the Bhajan Samraat, CA. Sunil G. Karve, Founder - MET, Pt. ShashankKatti, Head - Music Therapy graced this occasion. Jalota spoke about the benefits of music therapy and narrated a few interesting anecdotes. MET League of Colleges is the first ever institution in India to host a six months, part
time course in Music Therapy and it wishes to further contribute to society.
