
The Rotaract Club of H.R. College recently conducted ‘OCTAVE – A Youth Festival’ – a chance for Mumbaikars to relive their college days and experience them once more and let their enjoyment soar to the peak. This was a three day power packed festival catering to all types of youth. Starting from ‘Kick Off’(Football), ‘Money Matters’ (Mock Stock), ‘Shoot ‘Em Up’(paintball), ‘Head Shot’ (Counter Strike), ‘It’s all in the Mind’(Quiz), ‘Art Beat’ (Fine Arts) to ‘Nothing But The Beat’ (A Rock Band competition + War of the DJ’s) and ‘Step Up’ (Dance Competition), there were many other activities.
‘It doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop’ – Confucius. Following this motto starting of as a ‘Summer Fest’ in 1995, Octave has been unstoppable and made this fest popular in Mumbai for the youth. What started off from a few hundred, has gone up to a huge number, due to the high response from colleges, schools and radio listeners. Graced by celebrity participants, it experienced not only a large amount of participants but also great number of spectators. The highlight of the event was Poonam Pandey gracing the Rock Band event at Phoenix Marketcity. It also had Marzi Pestonji- A well known dancer who has also judged ‘Dance India Dance’, coming and judging the dance event called ‘Step up’ at Y.B. Chavan Auditorium.
