Suchitra Surve Director, Growth Centre, is a Post Graduate in Business Administration and has specialised in HR, and also holds a Post Graduation Diploma in Career Counselling

My son is in 10th this year and wishes to study management. So after 12th which course should he take up along with BMS – to do graduation? BA or BCom? I feel he should do BCom, but he has interest in arts also. Please help.
    —Chandrakant Shah

BMS itself is a Graduate degree and to seek admission for the same one has to clear class 12th from any of the streams; so no need to take up another bachelors degree – BA or BCom. Since your son is in 10th, it would better if you take Psychometric assessment to identify his potential and then decide on the course.

I want to become an Airline Pilot [not in airforce]. What degree, education is needed to become an airline pilot after Std 12th?
—Shantanu

You need to clear class 12th science with PCM and further go on to clear the SPL, PPL,CPL and ATPL Licenses that are required to become a Pilot. Do log on to the DGCA website for the same.

I’m in 12th science now and I’m interested in biology what are my options?
—Viresh H

Since you are interested in Biology you can complete your Graduation [B.Sc.] in Biology/ Botany/Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences /Zoology and likewise. Or else you can also take up Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics as a career after clearing relevant entrance tests. You can also pursue Bio related engineering but clearing the relevant entrance exam is essential.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)It is advisable to continue in your present work even if things move slowly. You may feel restless and uneasy but remain calm. Your benefits come from those close to you. You will find that you will do well with consistent hard work. Try not to get upset by delays. In marital relationships keep calm for there could be a clash of opinion over minor issues. Stay away from parties or outings.
