I am currently studying in Grade 11. I am interested in studying Interior Design in the USA. Can you recommend suitable programs and colleges for the same? Also what would be the approximate cost per year  of education?

The Interior Design Program at the Undergraduate Level in the US is known as the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design.  Some of the popular choices for application for this program are:

  • SCAD: Atlanta, Savannah, GA
  • Parsons College: New York, NY
  • Pratt College: Bronx, NY
  • New York School of Interior Design: New York, NY
  • Syracuse University: Syracuse, NY

The total cost includes Tuition Fees, Course Specific Fees and Other Expenses like Residence Fees, Food, Transportation and Insurance. The cost of education may range from $30,000 to $55,000 based on your choice of college. Similarly, the Other Expenses may also vary according to the location and college which may range from about $25,000 to $40,000 per year. Some colleges may also levy extra expenses like: Technology Fee, Printing Charges, Studio-Usage Charges and Material Charges.

I am interested in studying Engineering at University of California-Berkeley and Los Angeles. What is the process of application?

The application for Undergraduate studies to the University of California is done through the University of California (UC) application website. The application period is between 1stNovember and 30th November.  When you apply to UC, you are required to report your academic record within the UC application. However, transcripts are not required at the time of application. The UC’s do not require any recommendation/reference letter. The Personal Insight Questions are a very important part of the UC application. You will have 8 questions to choose from. You must respond to only 4 of the 8 questions. If you are applying to a professional college (such as the College of Engineering or Chemistry), it is important that you discuss: Your intended field of study, Your interest in your specific major, Any school or work-related experience. You also need to submit your SAT or ACT score along with your English Proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS) score. Also please note the following SAT Subjeact Test Requirements: Berkeley College of Chemistry and College of Engineering: Math Level 2 and a science test (Biology E/M, Chemistry, or Physics) closely related to the applicant's intended major. Los Angeles: Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science: Math Level 2 and a science test (Biology E/M, Chemistry, or Physics) closely related to the applicant's intended major.

I am planning to apply to the UK for B.A in Political Studies. I have heard that there are two deadlines for applying for Undergraduate studies to the UK.   When should I apply for admission?

Applications for the B.A in Political Studies to the UK go through the UCAS.  When you apply to through the UCAS the ordinary application deadline is 15th January. But if you are applying to Oxford or Cambridge, the UCAS deadline is October 15th. The deadline for the remaining colleges will also become October 15th.
