A lot of Wonderful women were all there at the ‘I Am Woman’ awards ceremony happening at Taj Lands End Hotel, Bandra. They spoke about their personal and professional life and inspiring the rapt audience. The brainchild of Harvard alumni Karan Gupta, founder of Karan Gupta Education Foundation and Managing Director of IE Business School said, “‘I Am Woman’ derives its name from the lyrics of a ‘70s song: “I am a woman ... hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore.” Recipients of the awards included banker and social activist Amruta Fadnavis, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, film maker and producer Krishika Lulla, transgender activist Gauri Sawant, Stop Acid Attacks campaigner Laxmi Agarwal, Miss Malini founder Malini Agarwal and educator and social activist Shaheen Mistri. And guests included educationists Nitish Shah, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Madhoo Shah, Manasi Joshi Roy, Rohit Roy, Zarine Khan, Malaika Khan, Amy Billimoria, Reshma Merchant, Kiran Bawa, Maheka Mirpuri and Bina Aziz.
