
Box-office 2012 had been a cold affair in its recent weeks as far as Marathi and Hindi films. But Zee Talkies’ Kaksparsh changes the game by clocking a phenomenal collection figure, in mere seven weeks and sets the box office on fire. May 3, 1913, Dadasaheb Phalke gave Indian Cinema its first motion picture – Raja Harishchandra. On May 4, 2012 as we entered into the 100th year of Indian Cinema. On this occasion, Zee Talkies delivered a landmark movie – Kaksparsh, which proved to be a milestone not only in Marathi but National Cinema. The film completed its successful run in 50 theatres with 500 shows for a solid 50 days. Mahesh Manjrekar expressed his feelings on his dream project, “I did not choose Kaksparsh; the film chose me. I owe the success to my actors too who have done a wonderful job.”
The lead actor Sachin Khedekar feels that the story and the content of the film were responsible for the success of the film and he also credits the director Mahesh Manjrekar for the success of the film. He says that the story of the film was taken up by Mahesh himself but he rates this just as a coincidence. A celebration was held at Hotel Blue Sea to commemorate the landmark film which was hugely attended by the cast and crew and the media along with who’s who of the industry.
