Wednesday, November 29, 2017

The beauty of bonsai came alive as Farah Khan Ali and Preeti Jhangiani along with Urvashi Thacker and Harsha Hinduja inaugurated the Bonsai Bonanza & Ikebana Exhibition at Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu. Also present at the launch were Yukio Ucida, Consul for Culture & Information Section, Consulate General of Japan, Swaroop Sampat, Prachi Shah and Archana Kochhar. Curated by Harsha Hinduja, Urvashi Thacker and Taruna Agarwal, the exhibition was a treat to all plant lovers. The talk was that growing bonsais helps rejuvenate, refresh and recharge you. It makes you calmer and infuses positive energy. Also, gardening is like meditation, it keeps you physically fit. Most of the bonsais were 30-50 years old and exotic plants species were collected from all over the world. Some of the plants on display were English Hawthorne, African Acacia, Sandpaper Fucus, Thai Bodhi, Tropical Banyan, Grafted Bougainville, Juniper and 5 Needle Pines.
