It was a packed house at the Global Cruise Conclave at Grand Hyatt as India Cruise Lines Association (INCLA) in association with TravelBiz Monitor presented a white paper titled ‘Recommendations for the Indian Cruise Industry’ to Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in the presence of Subhash Chandra, chairman Zee and Essel Group. The talk was that cruise tourism has a tremendous scope in India and can become an economically viable and profitable sector with the projection of five million passengers by 2020. INCLA has been formed by leading cruise liners and other stakeholders from around the world with the objective of creating a roadmap for development of the cruise sector in India. Jurgen Bailom, convener, INCLA was there as also Sanjay Bhatia, chairman, Bombay Port Trust and chairman, Indian Ports Association and Nalini Gupta, executive committee member, INCLA.
