Renowned design practitioner Divya Thakur was there at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly Prince of Wales) to launch her ‘Design: The India Story’ among guests like Malini and Rahul Akerkar, Vikram Raizada, Lakshmi Menon, Shahid Duttawala, Rooshad Shroff, Nimita Kuruvilla, Beenu Bawa, Bhawana Sharma and Marielou Phillips among many more. It was a seminal show on design development in the subcontinent that lets you see through the lens of ideas and object design in the living space. After viewing the ‘Objects through Time’ at the museum it was time to stroll across to the nearby Max Mueller Bhavan for the ‘Ideas through Time’ exhibition. While the former traces the journey of unique everyday objects and material that are iconic to the Indian designscape, the latter puts forward eight concepts from ancient India that are pertinent to the present and future of design globally. And it was time for wine, too.
