Emphatic victory by Prithvi Shaw’s team

Wednesday, February 07, 2018

The Prithvi Shaw led team gave India's fourth ICC Under 19 a World cup win and it is a commendable one as the victory was achieved away from home and with consumable ease. The team played to a plan and achieved the inevitable in a very calculated way. Again, Rahul Dravid made the task easy with his innovative coaching methods and that saw the batsmen stick around and made a good finish without any fumbles in between. India's under 19 bowling coach Paras Mhambrey's name was well and truly forgotten when the team lifted the World cup in style. Indian bowlers picked two wickets each in the final with a sustained spell of bowling from the bowlers. The final saw bowlers picking momentum and the batsmen played to their potential to clinch the cup with 11.5 overs to spare. Manot Kalra made his presence as an opener and the fielding was outstanding with wicket keeper Desai accounting for three good catches. Shubman won the player of the tournament as he excelled with the bat scoring 372 runs with three half centuries and a century in his name. It is still a long way to go as we are thrilled by the stupendous achievement of our young cricketers and this win will cherish in our memory for a very long time. Kudos to Prithvi Shaw and company!
