KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) should be renamed as ABC (Amitabh Banega Crorepati). The show will have reduced ratings because one gets to hear only praises of Amitabh and the needless detailed life story of the participants. The actual time for quiz is reduced further due to the advertisements have to be reversed if the show has to regain its popularity especially because more competitors should get a chance to participate. Also, the no-time-bar slot for answering questions should be stopped as a lot of time is needlessly wasted. The invitation to actors on the quiz programme should also be reviewed. Lastly, due to the humungous revenue being earned by the organizers, the prize money should be increased to 10K, 20K, 50K, 100K, 200K, 500K, etc upto 5 crore in twelve steps. Undoubtedly, these measures will benefit the viewers and the organiSers.

I fully agree with the views expressed in the letter ‘KBC…’ (ADC, June 4). I know many knowledgeable senior citizens who register themselves for the show and are eager to appear on the hot seat, but never seem to have been made it to the FFF rounds. It may be recalled that the organisers of the program had one day of the week (Sunday) reserved for junior contestants during the first season of the quiz show. On similar lines, they can also bring out special episodes for elderly persons, say above 60, who are able to make it in the selection rounds.
