APROPOS ‘Here’s the dam, where’s the water?’ (ADC, July 18), it is indeed heartening to learn about at least one project which is being completed in record time after once being hindered by a stoppage. In addition, it is further pleasing to read that when the dam becomes operational it would cater to the extra capacity for holding more water and thereby provide additional supply of water to meet the gap between the demand and supply to the metropolis which is already reeling for the huge population bursting at the seams. The BMC’s hydraulics department should carry out the necessary technical tests to ensure the quality of the dam structurally, to see that it fits the bill for its water tightness and other technical aspects to render it successfully operational and running for a long period.
