Our Indian Flag was brought down intentionally and put to shame by a group of topless protestors, who vented their grievances in a shabby way. A group of Ukrainian topless protesters climbed onto the balcony of the Indian Embassy in Kiev and tore down the Indian flag last month. The protesters brought down the Indian Flag, smashed the doors and windows with it and threw it on the ground.
The activists were allegedly enraged by the Indian Foreign Ministry ordering thorough checks into all Ukrainians aged 15 to 40, seeking to enter the country, saying it would help weed out the numerous prostitutes in search of a job. The incident resulted in two cases opened on separate charges of hooliganism and desecration of state symbols. The women tied a banner in English to the balcony that declared that they are not prostitutes. They also carried placards in English and Russian saying ‘Delhi, close your brothels’ and ‘We demand apologies’.
