Go, Go, Go, Govinda is here, there and everywhere!
Make a human pyramid, reach the earthen pot and then break it or give a 'Salami' (salute) – this was seen across the city as the birth of Lord Krishna was rung in yesterday by youngsters, including females dressed in their folklore attire, printed with names of various politicians and organisations that have sponsored them.

Even as several 'Govindas' were injured, the enthusiasm was high and electric. At some venues, it was the political leaders who hogged the limelight as organisers roped in celebrities, including Bollywood personalities to pull in the crowd.

The most traditional Maharashtrian strongholds like Parel, Kalachowky, Dadar, Worli, Wadala, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Jogeshwari, Mulund and Thane were hotspot of the celebrations – our photographers Trupti Arekar, Santosh Gupta
and Azad Shrivastav bring out the colourful moments from the festival.
