Mumbai’s Kharade, Kakodkar book spots in final

Ahmedabad: Mumbai’s Gauri Kharade and Ronil Kakodkar, booked their spots in the IIFL Wealth Golf Invitational Faldo Series, India final at the IIFL Wealth Golf Invitational Faldo Series-India  regional qualifiers in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Playing at the award winning Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Course, Ahmedabad, Gauri playing off a handicap of 10, shot a Gross Score of 80 while Ronil playing off a handicap of 8, shot a Gross Score of 82. With the lowest gross scores in their categories, both Gauri and Ronil have secured slots in the IFL Wealth Invitational Faldo Series, India final in the U-21 Girls and U-18 Boys category respectively.

Gauri who has been on the golf course since the age of 8 has been training with renowned Golf Coach Vijay Divecha since 2015 in Ahmedabad at Kalhaar Blues and Greens and took full advantage of her knowledge of her home-course while securing the lowest Gross Score in her category (U-21) on the day.

Throwball, dodgeball tourney on Feb 3&4
My Mother My Anchor, a throwball and dodgeball tournament will be held in Mumbai at the Urban Sports Zone, Dadar on February 3-4 for mothers to rekindle their passion for sports and fitness. Moreover, schools and renowned academies will send their teams to participate in the tournament.

MCF-Badminton Premier League starts today
Former and current shuttlers like former state and district stalwart Sushant Niddodi and  Prashant Shah, Anil D’Souza, Gaurav Shah, Satish Sharma in men and Rhea Rocque, Nisha Sequeira, Dimple Pandhi and Suman Sharma among  women will be seen in action in the 5th MCF-Badminton Premier League to be  played  on round-robin basis, which gets underway at Mandpeshwar Civic Federation’s courts from today.

Each tie in the eight-team league will comprise men’s singles, mixed doubles, and three doubles including veterans. The teams are Maverick Squad, Badminton Snippers, Paradise Warriors, Other Planet, Namo Warriors, CENSEO Smashers, SAI Shuttlers and MBL Shuttlers.
