Aadesh BaNdekar to host ‘Divided’

Monday, July 23, 2012

Aadesh Bandekar is a popular host on Marathi Television having hosted shows like ‘Wow’, ‘DNA’, ‘High Tension’, etc on ETV Marathi. Now he helms another show for ETV called ‘Divided’ starting July 30, Monday-Tuesday at 9.30 pm. Sandeep Hattangadi spoke to the ever smiling dynamic Aadesh about his new role. Here is what he said.

This is your third show for ETV Marathi.
Yes .We share a good working relationship and I am looking forward to host this unique show ‘Divided’.

What is the format of the show?
Having acquired the format from Talpa Distribution, Endemol India has adapted this globally successful innovative game show format in Marathi reinstating their versatility as a production house. With interesting twists and turns outlined by the Creative Director, Atul Ketkar, each episode will see three contestants come together in a race against time to win upto lakhs of rupees! Each episode will unveil a set of 13 questions that increase in value but are bound by time. With every second that ticks away, a part of the available cash prize is lost!

Please explain.
Woven together in a never seen before concept, the contestants, instead of playing against each other will have to arrive at common consensus within a stipulated time frame to accumulate the cash prize. To win ‘Divided’, the contestants must make a unified decision at all times!

Reportedly this show is an international show.
This game show has been running successfully in UK, Slovenia, Estonia, Korea, Italy, Chile, Netherlands, Turkey and Malta and we are happy that the Indian audiences will now get to experience this exciting and nerve-wracking game show.

What else is happening on your career front?
My crime-based show ‘Lakshya’ on Star Pravah  produced by me is a super-hit show with the viewers. I am getting a role in a major Hindi serial which will be announced soon. I am also starting a Marathi film which is in the scripting stage. It’s about a small girl and her relationship with her father.

What’s happening with your public life?
I am a staunch follower of Balasaheb Thackeray and the Shiv Sena and I am an active follower of the party and whatever work is assigned to me I do it with complete honesty.

You have become every housewife’s lovable ‘Bhauji’?
Yes. Thanks to the popular show ‘Home Minister’ I have gained immense popularity all over Maharashtra and I am thankful to God who has showered me with so much name and fame.

To whom would you credit your success to?

To my Family. That’s how ‘Aadesh’ is, a complete family man.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)A lack of confidence may make you doubt your own judgment. Do not give in to such negative thoughts. Carry on with your work, success is assured. If you are given a difficult assignment, consider it as a challenge and do it with all sincerity and you will win accolades. Insecurity in a romantic association could be upsetting. It would be better to discuss what is on your mind rather than let your imagination run away with you.
