It’s a perfect saasu-maa TV role for me: Jaya Prada

The latest Bollywood actress to step aboard the telly bandwagon is the gorgeous Jaya Prada. The stunning, agile heroine of 'Sargam' and 'Aaj Ka Arjun' fame will be seen in this upcoming TV show 'Perfect Pati' premiering on &TV starting Monday September 3 in the prime time 9.30 pm slot and will be aired every Monday-Friday.

Speaking to ADC, the  outspoken yet jovial actress-cum popular politician said, “Initially I was not too sure whether I would be taking up TV roles. But when I was narrated the role by the creative team including the producer Rupali Guha (Film Farm), I realised that the role was exciting and challenging and 'perfect' for my TV debut. My ethnic yet elegant Rajasthani character of Rajyashree Rathod will redefine the way a stereotyped mother-in-law is portrayed. She is a confident and dynamic woman who will be seen juggling various responsibilities. She shows her mettle when faced with the difficult decision of choosing between right and wrong. It's such a pleasure working with young talented actors – suave Ayush Anand (he plays my son Pushkar) and the charming Sayali Sanjeev (who plays my daughter-in-law Vidhita). There can never be a 'perfect pati'. We need to reconcile with whatever best that one gets in life as 'husband material'. Since I am also active in politics, there is a wrong impression that I have no time for acting. In fact, I have acted in various regional movies and even a Marathi movie is happening. Ironically, I do not have time for myself.”

She signs off delighted to be associated with &TV.
