Mahisagar - a new light-hearted relationship drama from the hinterlands of Gujarat will captivate audiences starting October 7 from Mon – Fri at 7.30 pm on BIG MAGIC! Produced by Hats Off Productions, and J.D. Majethia, the show is loosely based on the Gujarati fable of Mahisagar.

Mahi is a sweet, carefree small-town girl who follows her heart and is ruled by her emotions. She believes in taking life as it comes and living the moment. She falls in love with Sagar and eventually gets married to him. From then on, the story takes a light-hearted journey into innocent Mahi’s life around her politically distinguished mother-in-law, Anusuya Mehta. Anusuya is a practical and calculative politician for whom actions and relationships are always based on what will move vote banks. That is the conflict point of the show.

The show stars Dharti in the title role and Sandit Tiwari. Commenting on the launch of the show, Sunil Kumaran, Business Head, BIG MAGIC said, “It is our constant endeavor to offer the best entertainment to our audiences and we are proud to beef up our weekday programming line-up with Mahisagar. The show will offer a slice-of-life flavour and life is absolutely fun through Mahi’s lens - I am confident that audiences will love spending their evenings with her on BIG MAGIC”.

Commenting on his latest offering, Jamnadas (JD) Majethia, Founder, Hats Off Productions, said, “BIG MAGIC has a strong programming line-up and we’re glad to be adding Mahisagar to the mix. Novel in its approach, the show takes unique Indian elements like the saas-bahu relationships and small-town local politics and mixes them together in a fun way. An entertaining relationship drama, Mahisagar is bound to connect with the audiences”.
