The beautiful Sara Khan of Life Ok show Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein is back to the small screen after a long break. This good looking London lass will portray the character of heart surgeon in Bindass new hospital based drama 'Zindagi Wins'. Bindass’ new show ‘Zindagi Wins’ is a peep into the medical world and the coming-of-age journey of a young doctor  with humanist  stories of resilience, courage and compassion. ADC spoke to the bubbly, spirited girl about her new show. Here is what she told us.

Is ‘Zindagi Wins’ a show about doctors?
Yes. It highlights the day to day working in a hospital by hardworking and caring doctors who carry out their duties with full of devotion and integrity . It also highlights their sacrifices and their different type of medical cases they have to face. We had a resident real doctor to guide as how to act and behave like doctors during the operations and their bedside manner and the way they interact with their patients.

Is the show based on other medical shows like ‘ER’, ‘General Hospital’, ‘Sanjeevani’, ‘Lifeline’ ‘Grey's Anatom' etc?
In a way yes, because it is produced by the same production team behind a popular show like ‘Sanjeevani’, UTV  The show tells the story of how difficult and demanding profession is medicine and the doctors   have high ideals, passion, energy – and a degree of naïveté about their work. They bring a breath of fresh air into the hospital. The story takes us through how these doctors face the trials and tribulations in life to fight a constant battle against diseases and death of patients. The story is more like the tale of the lives of people who are regarded as miracle workers – but who are actually only human, with families ,lives and emotions of their own.

Did you relish the idea of acting like a doctor?
Yes. I enjoyed it so much that I was always in my character of a doctor and the resident doctor had to get me out of my character and be myself. I had a good time shooting on the sets since I always wanted to be a doctor and my colleague on the show Dr. Aliya played by Abigail Pande. We got to learn the medical terminology and the routine nuances of a doctor like holding a scalpel while doing operations etc.

Why is it a weekly show?
This is the first fiction show of Bindaas and they are trying out new avenues and if the show clicks with the viewers, they might consider beaming the show in a more regular daily slot.

What kind of shows do you personally like to watch?
I like to see international shows like Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Friends, Game of Thrones, ETC. Among the recent Indian shows I liked ‘24’ and would like to be a part of the second season of the show.

What about films?
I moved to the big screen with Total Siyapaa where I played the sister of the lead girl Yami Gautam. It was one crazy character, I had a great time working in that film. I learnt a lot from veteran actors like Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher. Our film was based on British humor which is still to find following in India, I guess we were ahead of our time. I don’t really discriminate between the two medium’s both are equally important and I will continue to dabble in both.

Sara is surely one actor who will ‘treat’ the viewers to a great show!
