New talent show for youth
After entertaining the audiences with comedy shows, Sab TV is set to venture into the non-fiction zone with ‘Nanhe Superstars’, a platform for young and aspiring stars to showcase their talent. To be hosted by child stars Saloni Daini and Atharva Karve, the show will see girls and boys competing with one another for the title. “It is our constant endeavour to deliver wholesome and clean entertainment to our beloved and loyal audience. We are launching the first reality show to create enthralling and exciting Saturdays for our audience,” Anooj Kapoor, executive vice president and business head, Sab TV, said in a statement

‘Sur-kshetra’ to simulcast
India-Pakistan singing reality show ‘Sur-kshetra’, which features upcoming singers and judges from both sides of the border, will be simulcast on Colors and Sahara One as a part of unique strategic tie-up. Directed by Gajendra Singh, the cross-border musical extravaganza shot in Dubai, will be hosted by Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia. It will have Indian and Pakistani singers competing against each other. “Music has the unique ability to unify people and today, it has brought two channels together. Sur-Kshetra will mark Colors' foray into the singing genre non-fiction content segment and we are extremely excited about this new venture,” Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, said in a statement.

‘Gumrah-Season 2’ to begin soon
Riding high on the colossal success of its popular teen-crime show, Channel [v] is all set to bring back a fresh new season of ‘Gumrah’, on July 9, 2012. ‘Gumrah – Season 2’ will now air daily (Monday–Friday) and each episode will illustrate new spine-chilling stories of crime. The show is co-produced by ALT Entertainment and Lost Boy Productions and will continue to be hosted by Karan Kundra.

SAB TV’s awards function
Paresh Ganatra and Shilpa Shinde of SAB TV’s popular show ‘Chidiyaghar’ enthralled the audiences with their breath-taking performances to foot-tapping songs like ‘Chinta Ta Ta’, ‘Laung Da Lashkara’ and a few others at the recently held SAB Ke Anokhe Awards function. This awards function, instituted by Sab TV, is the first-of-its-kind awards on Indian television to recognize and honour the endearing characters of SAB TV shows. SAB TV has planned a glittering awards function that will feature a variety of musical parodies, dance acts by SAB TV characters, etc.
